INTRODUCTION:

With the increase in vehicle borne terrorism, Shallow Mount Road Blockers provide an effective alternative to rising arm barriers or sliding gate at high security commercial and industrial sites. It is an electro hydraulically operated obstruction which rises above the ground level preventing any unauthorised intrusions at entry/exit points of high security sites and VVIP zones.

Like conventional road blockers, SM401-800 Shallow Mount Road Blockers provide safe access control, in case of a vehicle attack, they prevent the vehicle from moving by damaging the wheels, front and lower parts of the heavy vehicle and provide effective protection and security by disabling it.The system is capable of completing lifting and lowering movement in 3 – 4 seconds without any limitation of usage.Shallow Road Blocker ,a hostile vehicle mitigation solution, provides a high level of protection where deeper foundations are not possible/practice. With a foundation depth of less that 300mm the road blocker is designed as a Vehicle Security Barrier (VSB) and has been independently physically impact tested at the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL)

For the installation of Shallow Mount Road Blockers, there is no need to dig the ground deeper than 400 mm. Therefore, it is a suitable solution in situations where it is not possible to dig deep into the ground compared to conventional standard road blockers.

The drive unit is hydraulic, but in case of power failure road blocker can be lowered or lifted manually with the help of manual hand pumps. With the help of PLC controlled electronics, raise/lower function can be achieved by every kind of card readers, biometric readers like fingerprint or hand shape, radio control, on/off key switch etc.Besides, safety accessories like dual vehicle safety loop detectors and red/green lights can be provided as accessories in the system.

HPU – Hydraulic Power Unit:In the power unit the two systems (hydraulic and electrical) are separated to make easier and safer the maintenance operations; input and output dry contacts are available to manage the Road Blocker.Hydraulic unit is specially designed for road blockers and bollards. TThere are manometer, manual hand pump, oil level and temperature indicator, direction control valve, tank cover, pressure setting, 3kW electric motor in hydraulic system.

EMERGENCY FAST OPERATION (EFO): In case of emergency, optional Emergency Fast Operation feature raises the road blocker to fully up position in less than 5 second, thanks to high-pressured accumulator. This feature is activated by the panic button on remote control keyboard or any external signal such as SM401 Series Rising Arm Barrier’s crash detection.

In addition to anti-ramming properties, this blocker has another advantage – this is an ultra small installation depth of 300 mm. The completely innovative design of this lock allows you to combine its main anti-ram function with the simplicity and speed of installation.
